Glutavescent
(Effervescent Glutamine)
What is Glutamine?
L-Glutamine is the most abundant
single amino acid in the intracellular free amino acid
pool. Despite the large number of enzymatic reactions
that could cause its depletion, it comprises 60% of
the amino acid pool in skeletal muscle. The importance
of glutamine is often underscored by its abundance
in every bodily tissue. But this abundance is what makes
glutamine so interesting for us, hence something
so abundant in muscle and plasma has important functions,
especially in where it contains the most.
Take a bodybuilding workout for example. Glutamine
concentrations fall markedly after training and seem to remain low
until complete recovery. What this means is, the physical stress
under what the body of weight training has to recover, leaks now
nitrogen carrying glutamine from muscle tissue. In fact,
Glutamines chemical structure containing two nitrogen side
chains, consists of over 20% nitrogen- making it the primary transporter
into the muscle cell sites. If not replenished immediately, performance
of the Athlete can spiral downward almost instantly. Glutamine has
been positively linked to increase protein synthesis by maintaining
the muscular glutamine pool, therefore protecting the muscle from
being catabolized during post-training recovery phases. Interestingly,
athletes that utilize L-glutamine to replenish and hydrate cells
often report increased full and roundness to their bodies. This
suggests, that L-glutamine may shuttle additional amino acids
into muscle cells by facilitating its entry. Much like participating
as a special transport system into muscle cells, for the otherwise
left out amino acids.
What type of delivery method is best for taking L-Glutamine?
Glutamine is available in both capsules and powdered form.
However, recent research suggests that the effervescent method is
the most advanced technology in delivering the goods. Most individuals
absorb only 1/3 of the powdered or encapsulated form, but when the
effervescent method was fused, bioavailability increased tremendously.
For those in need of higher dosages the effervescent form is a must.
It will be much easier to take as well as considerably less expensive
than the encapsulated form. As to Glutavescent, each scoop
contains approximately 2.5 grams of Effervescent L-Glutamine.
This means if you are on the higher dosage of 15 grams per day to
take 4-7 scoops equally spaced throughout the day. The powder can
be conveniently mixed with water or your most favorite juice-drink.
